Reuben and Alice Goodloe Scott settled in Wheeling, West Virginia where they both worked at the Haskins Hospital, Alice as a cook and Reuben first as a janitor and later as a hostler. Reuben Scott died in Wheeling in 1913, leaving his estate to his “dear wife, Alice Scott” and naming her his executor, “having perfect confidence in her judgement and integrity.”
