In 1897 The Pittsburgh Press published a story from The Washington Post which reported an encounter with Mr. Fleming West during an outing to Monticello by several U.S. Senators. While we have not located a marker for Mr. West, we believe that he is buried at the Daughters of Zion Cemetery alongside his brother, Joshua, and sister-in-law, Annie Washington West.
