Note that although her obituary states that interment was at Oakwood Cemetery, official records indicate that Ms. Lilly Nicholas was in fact buried at the Daughter of Zion Cemetery.
The Daughters of Zion Cemetery has been known by several names including “Society,” “Church Hill,” “Oak Hill,” and “Old Oakwood.” And perhaps because it was adjacent to the much larger Oakwood Cemetery, it was often referred to as part of Oakwood.
