After giving the first performance of “The Belle of Saratoga” at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in March, the company moved to the Levy Opera House where they performed for “a very large and appreciative audience” on April 26. The Daily Progress praised and promoted the production on page one from Thursday April 18 through Saturday April 27, 1912, saying “Those who have heard these singers in the same operetta endorse them very highly. No one who attends tonight will regret it.”
Mrs. Gertrude Heiskell was a Charter Member
of the Thalian Art and Literary Club,
organized in 1910.
